Frequently Asked Questions! What do you want to know?

Q. Who are you? 

A.  We are local family that has decided our community needed a fun toy store! We have operated Bushel Basket Candle Co Inc for the last 21 years (est 2001) and have been at Northland Mall in Sterling for the last 14+ years.  2022 saw an opportunity to add The Toy Store, and we quickly filled our 2300 sf store with all kinds of fidget toys, die cast, science & STEM kits, plush, animals, trains, cars, baby toys, outdoor toys and SO MUCH MORE!  We carry many popular brands including Fat Brain, Squishable, Warmies, John Deere, Ertl, Tomy, Tonies, and the list goes on! From building blocks to unique earrings, stickers, posters, D & D accessories, we are working hard to make a children's toy wonderland where every parent and grandparent get excited about finding that perfect, unique gift for the child in their life!  Welcome!

Q. Are you part of another company?

A. YES! The Toy Store is a subsidiary Bushel Basket Candle Co Inc. Your CC/Debit card statement will reflect Bushel Basket Candle Co. 

Q. Do you ship? 

A.  Yes we do! We ship Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, by either USPS or UPS.  If staff is available we will ship Monday & Tuesday as well.  Please allow 10 days for your order to ship and be delivered on your doorstep.  Please know that once the post office or UPS pick up your package we have no control over their schedule or procedures.

Q,  Can I order online and pickup my order at the store? 

A.  You sure can! Just give us a business day to get your order ready. If you need it right away, please call the store at 815-622-5996.  And if it's a gift? Let us know, and we'll have it wrapped and ready for pickup.  Choose Local Pickup at Checkout for no charge.

Q. So do you offer Curbside pickup too? 

A. Yes we do - call ahead and let us know when you plan to arrive, and we will bring your order to the curb at Bushel Basket Candle Co on the outside of the Mall. Choose Local Pickup at Checkout.

Q. I have trouble getting out, or I can't get away from work, do you deliver by chance?

A. YES! We currently offer Free Delivery within a 15 mile radius for orders of $50 or more. Choose the Delivery Option at Checkout. 

Q. Are items always in stock? 

A. We do our best to make sure stock levels are always accurate, and use technology to help us make sure that we're doing it right.  But occasionally things don't work like they're supposed to, or we get super busy and it takes a minute for the system to update.  If we accidentally sell you something that we didn't realize was out of stock we will refund your order immediately. 

Q. Do you accept returns? 

A. Yes, with receipt within 15 days, for Store Credit. We are not able to do any cash refunds of any kind.  We are a small shop that has limited inventory, and part of offering a terrific selection is careful inventory management. 

Q. I bought a toy and when I opened it, it's broken. What do I do? 

A. Give us a call - we will contact the vendor/manufacturer and get you a replacement.  We do not give refunds or store credit on defective/damaged merchandise, but we will replace it for you as soon as possible.  :) 

If you ordered online and your order was shipped and arrived broken, please take a picture of the outside of the box, and the inside as it was packed, and call us. Save the packing material until we know if we need to file a claim with the shipper. 

 

Q. I bought a toy online that I want to return - how do I do that?

A. Call us for a RMA# and the reason for the change of heart. We must receive a tracking# for the return within 15 days of you receiving your order.  You will be issued Store Credit once your return is received by The Toy Store. 

Returned MUST be in original packaging with all tags, etc. If a return is received damaged, out of the packaging, without tags, or in any ways cannot be returned to the shelf for sale, we will call you and ask if you would like us to return it to you at your expense. 

Q.  What kinds of toys do you carry?

A. We are working to bring you a wide selection of everything we can think of for every age group! 

Q. So do you offer Gift Cards? 

A. YES! We can create Gift Certificates for any $$ amount. We can also sell Gift Certificates over the phone. We can offer pickup at the counter for you or your recipient. We can mail your gift to your Recipient for no extra charge. 

Gift Certificates that are purchased NEVER expire!  

*Please Note - just like a Gift Card you purchase at any other store, we have no way of tracking or replacing a lost Gift Card. Please treat your Gift Certificate as you would cash!!

Q. I'm buying a gift for someone that doesn't live here, can you help? 

A. YES! We would be happy to ship your gift for actual charges through either USPS or UPS. Please allow 10 days for this process. 

Q. I am so unhappy with my experience, now what? 

A. We hope that every visit to The Toy Store is fun, relaxing, and just the best ever! If that doesn't happen, please let us know. We are all human, but we will do everything we can to be a positive and fun shopping experience.
